What is what is a Minecraft Nether portal? It is a gateway between two worlds. It divides the overworld (Minecraft) from the Nether realms, which are a dark and hostile hellscape. You can't access the Nether without going through the purple door. So, how do you use the Nether portal to the Nether?
After you've created your Nether portal design You can use it to travel to the Nether. Simply enter the portal to transfer to the Nether. Within four seconds, you will be transported to a terrifying landscape populated by monsters and lava. Most Minecraft mobs and other objects can enter or exit the Nether portal in Minecraft, except for Minecraft wither and the ender dragon - they definitely don't belong in the sunny side of Minecraft.
There are very few reasons to create a Minecraft Nether portal. You must enjoy the challenge of escaping sticky situations. While exploring the lava-filled world, you will encounter hostile creatures such as ghasts or skeletons. However, there are many reasons to visit this dark realm. It's a hotspot for crafting materials such as Minecraft netherite and if you're interested in creating the most sought-after items such as the Minecraft beacon, you'll need to swing by the Nether and buy some things. So, here's how to access the Nether in Minecraft using the portal.
Minecraft Dimensions of the Nether Portal
What are the dimensions of the Minecraft Nether portal? To build Nether Portal you'll need 12-14 obsidian blocks. It must be rectangular in shape, with a minimum dimension of 4x5 and a maximum dimension of 23x23. To mine obsidian, you'll need diamond pickaxes - this is the only tool you can use to mine obsidian, and while there are some workarounds however, they're not worth the effort - just go get some Minecraft diamonds first.

To create a Nether portal you'll also require steel and flint. This will allow for the 'filling' the door. First, put your obsidian blocks in a rectangle as seen below (you do not need to fill in the corners). Then, you can use flint and steel to create fire to fill the doorway, which will expel a gust of translucent purple ooze, which is beautiful. The vortex will hang close to the door however it's not risky. What's on the other side of the door is what need to be concerned about.
